Amadeus Waterways released its 2009 cruise schedule, which includes 17 vacation programs in Europe, Russia, Portugal and Egypt. European vacations include one that starts in Paris and then cruises along the Mosel and Main rivers from Trier to Nuremberg before ending in Prague. Other voyages sail from Amsterdam to Budapest; through Eastern Europe on the Black Sea; from Budapest to Passau, before ending in Prague; through Provence and Spain; and in the Douro River Valley in Portugal. Amadeus Waterways announced two new ships are scheduled to debut in 2009 -- the Amalyra in March and Amadolce in May. Both vessels will feature the same amenities found on sister ships, Amadante (introduced in 2008), Amacello (2008), Amalegro (2007) and Amadagio (2006).
The staterooms will be equipped with a flat-screen TV, Internet access, and will feature French balconies on the upper two decks. The ships also have an elevator, a sun deck with walking track, a whirlpool, and bicycles for passenger use. Amadeus Waterways offers an English-speaking, non-smoking environment, with daily included shore excursions.
